Many sailors prefer a bucket hat for sun protection and glare reduction on the water. It’s a practical choice – it flaps less in the wind than a wide-brimmed hat and is less likely to blow off your head when you look up to check the position of the mainsail.

Our Castell bucket hat is quick-drying, water-repellent and offers UPF-50 sun protection. The retention cord prevents the hat from blowing overboard in strong winds and can be easily removed for use in calmer conditions on the water. The lightweight fabric also floats if it does fall into the water.
