Happy Mouth Full Cheek with Roller
It has a oval shaped link in the center, made from the happy mouth material which is movable an rolls around the stainless steel centre. It has 2 joints, which means the pressure of the bit is distributed over both the tongue and bars of the mouth. Because the mouthpiece has two joints, it shouldn’t cause any interference with the roof of the mouth. The roller uses tongue pressure to encourage the horse to go on the bit and lower the head, it has bar and lip pressure but not a ’squeezing’ action like that of a bit with a single joint. The roller also encourages mouthing and acceptance as the horse can play with the roller and be kept content.
The full cheeks have a lateral guiding effect, and also prevent the bit from sliding through the mouth. The full cheek is often used with bit keepers to prevent the cheeks from getting caught on anything, and to keep the bit in the right position inside the mouth
